What We Do

Using Arts, Culture and History we weave together a tapestry for a better world!

Dorothy Grier Memorial Music Scholarship

The DILG Memorial Scholarship is designed to assist middle and high school students in furthering their musical skills through music lessons.

Mrs. Grier taught music in the schools, churches, and community for over 40 years.

Annual Grier Music Fest

Join us each 1st Saturday in July for our annual Grier Music Fest in Historic Idlewild Michigan. From 1:00pm to 6:00pm we offer free world class jazz, blues, R&B, gospel and entertainment in an effort to remember the legacy of Dorothy Grier. Grier World CC also offers cultural and historical venues for entertainment, education, edification, and pure enjoyment.

Community Commitment

From community service days in Idlewild MI to the annual music festival and alumni basketball game, we have committed our time, money, and resources to bettering our World. Cultural trips to South Africa and Sapporo Japan, educational assemblies in local school districts and historical plays for senior citizens are a part of our regular rhythm of shaping the world.

Book "My Idlewild" The Musical by Gezelle Myers

Created for the 100th anniversary of Historic Idlewild, MI in 2012, daughter of Idlewild, Gezelle Grier-Myers wrote the musical My Idlewild.

Featuring original music, historical and cultural prose, this multiple sell-out event can come to your town.

About GWCC

At GWCC education, entertainment, edification, and equity are at the core of what we do and why we do it.

Starting as a memorial service during Covid for our mother Dorothy Grier, we have created a network of service of things she championed.
